by Trout Fisherman's Russell Hill It wasn't just the Trout Fisherman team that was there. The local Rhyl Journal and Liverpool's Daily Post were also in attendance over the two day celebration which included the presentation of a Fly Rod to Alan Lewis as the winner of the TF draw. That's
never Mick Channon.. Now matter where you look nowadays, there's no escaping Mick Channon ! At the first hint of a camera being clicked, up he mysteriously pops. This time though it was in his capacity of Intrepid Reporter of Granada Reports and he was there to make a small news item for the local Granada TV News Programme. He even managed to catch one for the camera - well done Mick !! You know, I wouldn't mind being paid to carry out my favourite pastime of fishing either - Gizza job !! The now traditional Tan-y-Mynydd Barbeque was again overseen by John Boag who, as usual, did a tremendous job of feeding the starving multitudes. A huge belly-buster breakfast burger was followed later in the day by Cheese Burgers topped with onions. Towards the evening, one of Tan-y-Mynydd's succulent trout was added to the menu, filling the air with the most delicious aroma and causing all those nearby to salivate alarmingly - the pink flesh tasted even better than it looked ! The TF team had already returned to their onsite Holiday Cottage, to pack their gear away into their car, when the Double Figure fish decided to play ball by being caught. The camera was retrieved from the boot and the moment duly captured. Contact
