Monthly Fishing Report

In the past we have provided monthly fishing reports, but from experience, we can now guide you on a seasonal   basis throughout the year, with tactics which should give you success.

WINTER..

Use Slow Sink...

...Intermediate or Floating Lines - Lures dictate - Cats Whiskers / Blobs / Fritz Damsels / Zonkers / Vivas but other Killer Flies are - Bloodworms / Hares Ear / P.T.N. / Diawl Bach / Montanas.
Egg Flies can be absolute killers.

SPRING..

Use Intermediate or...

...Floating Lines - Naturals come into their own - Damsels / P.T.N's / G.R.H.E. and Buzzers of all colours but mainly Black with Red Thorax. Evening rises can be superb especially if Sedges are hatching.
Use Sedges / Hoppers / CDC Variants /Shipmans Buzzers / Klinkhammers

Reminder: 2005 Rod licences expire on the 31st March

SUMMER..

Can be hard going...

...on hot days - best results had early morning or evening. Likely to be quite weedy so you only need a Floating Line. Difficult to suggest Fly Patterns but the following should give you success:-
Hoppers / Buzzers / Daddies / Klinkhammers / CDC Variants

AUTUMN..

Can be great fishing...

...Use Intermediate or Floating Lines. Killer Flies are usually the following -
Daddies / Hoppers / Damsels /Cats Whiskers / Egg Flies. If there are Fry around, use Zonkers / PTN's / Diawl Bachs

The information given above is just an indication of our experience - we would always suggest that you ask Bryn or Neil when you visit what the Hot Flies of the moment are.
