Fly Fishing Courses

 Beginners/Novices. Start 9.30 am finish 12.30 am

This course is a great introduction to the sport of fly-fishing enabling everyone to sample this great sport at minimum expense. All tackle is provided and by the end of the course you will have learnt the basics of fly-casting, knot tying and then how to catch some fish.

Improvers/Intermediate. Start 1.00 pm finish 4.00 pm.

Ideal follow up to the beginner's course or for the angler who is self taught and just wanting to improve. More advanced casting techniques allowing you to get more distance to those allusive trout. Basic entomology and fish behaviour, this will help you to catch fish with skill rather than just good luck. This course includes an introduction to the double haul and advanced roll casts.

Quick fix lesson. Between 4.30 pm and 6.00 pm

This is an opportunity for anyone who is struggling with a particular aspect of fly-casting. A quick fix session to help iron out any casting problems or bad habits that may have developed. Introduction to the double haul and various roll and presentation casts to make fishing those difficult spots a lot easier. This is a Tan y Mynydd special at £15 per half hour.

All courses and lessons are supervised by a highly qualified casting instructor.
