North Wales Premier Fly Fishery Ossies Memorial Shield May 2003 Tension mounted for the September O.J. Shield Competition to get under way for what is now a much awaited event with a much sought after Trophy. A
large number of Blue Trout had just been introduced
and good bags were had by most anglers. Excitement
was in the air as two young anglers, Craig Owen
& Liam from Llanwrst (Ossies nephew) were
neck and neck towards the end of the competition. At the final whistle it soon became apparent that a tie had occured and it was decided that the fairest way to decide upon a winner was to have a fish-off situation with the winner being the first angler to land a trout out of Home Pool. It was not long before 12 year old Craig caught another 'Blue' and he was crowned Champion - this was a fantastic achievement for someone so young especially when you take into account that he was up against some very good fishermen. Well done Craig !! | ||||||||||||||
